Patient-Centered Care Using Evidence-Based Techniques

Individual Health and Pain Solutions

We provide individualized health and pain solutions and prevention education for the following conditions, in order to help you achieve your goals.

Back Pain

Back pain ranges in severity from mild to severe. It can be caused by an underlying illness or injuries due to overuse. Exercising too much, lifting heavy objects, and prolonged sitting can also result in back pain.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

This is a condition that causes symptoms such as pain, numbness, and tingling in the hands and arms. It occurs when the median nerve is squeezed or irritated.

Hand Pain

Many conditions can cause pain in the hand or wrist. These include carpal tunnel syndrome and joint inflammation due to arthritis.

Herniated Discs

A herniated disc is a condition that can cause neck or back pain. The symptoms can radiate into the leg if the herniation is in the lumbar spine (low back), or into the arm if the herniation is in the cervical spine (neck). The condition arises as a result of a tear in the outer layers (annulus) of the disc. The annulus acts as a retaining wall for the inner, gel portion of the disc, or nucleus, that may press on sensitive structures in and around the disc when a herniation occurs.

Hip, Knee, Ankle and Foot Pain

Pain, dysfunction, or post-surgical rehabilitation of the lower extremity can benefit from our reasoned evaluation, treatment and patient education. We use the discerning McKenzie ® (MDT) evaluation and patient-centered treatment to help you return to your goals in sport, family, work, travel or hobby, and prevention education to help you stay as healthy as possible for the long-term.

Intimate Health Issues

Back and groin pain can greatly affect the intimate side of your life. Our private, personal approach using the McKenzie Method® (MDT) has helped our patients return to function for more than 25 years.

Mechanical Headaches

Mechanical headaches are those that are affected by position and movement of the head, neck and, less frequently, the jaw or TMJ (temperomandibular joint). Symptomatic and mechanical response to repeated movements and/or sustained positions help to distinguish people who will successfully respond to mechanical treatment, and those who will not.

Neck Pain

Neck pain often results from overuse at work, sport, caring for children, or texting and phone use. The McKenzie Method ® (MDT) can help return you to pain-free function, often relatively quickly. Prevention education helps you amend your posture and stress to eliminate or manage pain in the future.

Pregnancy Neck and Back Pain

Pregnancy should be a period of joy, not pain. Yet, back pain occurs in 50% of pregnancies. Let us help you eliminate pain and manage the stresses on your changing body.

Rheumatoid Arthritis

RA and mechanical pain may be present simultaneously. Let us help you eliminate mechanical stresses on your joints, teach management methods and exercise strategies to help eliminate pain, and work with your physician to manage your case.

Sciatica

If you suffer sciatic symptoms into the leg, there’s no need to be alarmed. Let us help you get control of the symptoms, reduce their effect, and use the McKenzie Method® (MDT) to teach you to prevent recurrence.

Shoulder, Arm and Elbow Pain

Frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, de Quervain’s Tenosyovitis are some of the many upper extremity concerns you may have. Our system of evaluation and treatment allows us to assess if the pain or dysfunction is coming from the local structure, or is being referred by the spine.

Travel Sciatica

Prolonged sitting in cramped spaces – often planes and autos – may cause back pain and a special stress we call travel sciatica. Let us help you learn techniques to eliminate and manage pain to return confidently to your active lifestyle.

Sports Injuries

We utilize the McKenzie Method® of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT) to help you return to your sport as quickly as possible, or to rehab after an orthopaedic injury or surgery.

Thoracic Pain

Discomfort in the mid-back, near the ribs or sternum may indicate a thoracic derangement. The McKenzie Method (MDT) helps identify and deliver solutions for this hard-to-diagnose pain.

TMJ

Dysfunction of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) can lead to pain and discomfort. Our assessment and exercise prescription can help you take control of your symptoms and eliminate pain.

Vestibular and Balance Disorders

Did you know physical therapy can help you overcome dizziness and improve your balance? Helping people overcome BPPV and similar challenges is one of our specialties.

Traditional Rehabilitation

We utilize evidence-based techniques to help our patients develop, restore, or maintain optimum mobility and physical function. Our treatments are customized according to their unique needs, abilities, and goals.
